The families and individuals we help have amazing stories of hope and courage. Here are just a few of their stories.
Rodney’s Story
Rodney and his son stayed at Inn from the Cold from October 2009 to January 2010. They came to Calgary from Saskatchewan, seeking an escape from the violence and drugs in their community, hoping to find a better life. Rodney’s teenage son registered in a high school right away and Rodney began to address his own medical issues. Rodney’s mother lives in Calgary and has been a wonderful support to the family. Together, they have been very pro-active in improving their situation and seeking appropriate resources. When an apartment became available, they moved in. It is close to the son’s school and public transit is handy for Rodney to get to his medical appointments. The family feels blessed to be given this opportunity to have a new home and a better life.
