This Giving Tuesday make an impact for children and families in housing crisis
Inn from the Cold relies heavily on the generosity of Calgarians to ensure we have the right resources at the right time. These resources are critical to end homelessness for the over 1,000 children and families who access our Emergency Family Shelter each year.
We continue to see increased demand for resources and the shelter has been operating at or over capacity 62% of the time this year. While experiencing increased demand, we are seeing more than a 30% deficit in donations over this time last year.
In addition to providing the basic necessities of life for children and families in shelter, we provide vital supports and programs for children and parents to plug into and learn from. These supports and programs help individuals gain stability and well-being in their lives so that they can move beyond the shelter into housing and integrate back into the mainstream community.
