Our team brings a variety of different backgrounds, approaches and perspectives to the table, representing the diversity of our community. Our leaders ensure we continue to meet the varied needs of the families at Inn from the Cold by working collaboratively together. We continually evolve and adapt our programs to be able to provide effective, sustainable and integrated supports for the families we serve.

Meet Our Executive Team

Executive Director

Heather Morley, MA

Heather has proudly served as the Inn’s Executive Director since April 2019. As Executive Director, Heather is responsible for providing overall leadership, direction and oversight, ensuring that Inn from the Cold fulfills its mission and meets our community's and all stakeholders' expectations. She brings decades of experience and advocacy in the social services and homeless-serving sectors across Canada and in the United States. Prior to joining The Inn, Heather held executive leadership roles at YW Calgary, Canadian Women’s Foundation, Discovery House Family Violence Prevention Society, and served on the Board of Directors for the Women’s Centre of Calgary. Heather holds a MA in Counselling from the University of San Francisco. She has instructed at the University of Calgary and presented nationally and internationally at conferences focused on homelessness and domestic violence. Heather is committed to supporting our communities’ most vulnerable, and to raising awareness of homelessness and social injustices in our society.
Director, Philanthropy & Campaigns

Jennifer English

Jen joined Inn from the Cold in October 2020. As the Director, Philanthropy & Campaigns, Jennifer is responsible for providing leadership to our Fund Development and Volunteer Resources teams. She brings over 25 years of business experience, with the last 11 years being in the charitable sector. Prior to working at Inn from the Cold, Jen served in senior leadership positions with Trinity Western University and the Calgary Dream Centre. Jen believes in the importance of philanthropy, and the impact that it has on the community and in particular, the families at Inn from the Cold. Jen has a certificate in Leadership from Trinity Western University, and is known for her innovative ideas, and the ability to reach fundraising goals, while developing positive stakeholder relationships. Jen is also committed to volunteering in the community, and is currently on the JCSMPA board.
Director, Impact & Engagement

Emma MacIsaac, BBA

Emma joined Inn from the Cold in December 2021. As the Director, Impact & Engagement, Emma is responsible for providing leadership to our Communications & Stakeholder Relations, Indigenous Engagement & Data, Research & Evaluation team. Emma is accountable for guiding the strategy for all communications, marketing, community and government relations, Indigenous engagement and programming, and impact measurement and program evaluation efforts to position the organization as a leader in Reconciliation, charity of choice, and Centre of Excellence in Family Homelessness. She brings over 15 years of diverse experience in stakeholder engagement, communications, strategic counsel and reputation management from the private and public sectors including oil and gas, post-secondary, non-profit and the City of Calgary. Her career shows a successful track record of leading innovative programs that foster collaboration, drive change and enable better decision-making and organizational success. Emma is a graduate of the University of Regina and is a passionate volunteer with several local community organizations across the city.
Director, Programs & Operations

Nathaniel Miller, MBA, OLY

Nathaniel joined Inn from the Cold in January 2020. As the Dirctor, Programs & Operations, Nathaniel is responsible for providing leadership to our Shelter, Housing, Family Services and Facilities teams. As former Captain of the Canadian Men’s National Water Polo team, he honed his leadership skills during a 12-year athletic career. Nathaniel has led teams for more than two decades in the corporate and sports sectors and is the former Manager of Athlete Leadership at the Canadian Olympic Committee, where he oversaw the design and development of Canada’s globally recognized Athlete Transition program. He has an Executive MBA from Queen’s Smith School of Business and has been involved in community programming in various capacities for the past 25 years. He continues to share his passion for physical literacy and community building by volunteering with local minor sports associations and as a board member with JazzYYC.
Director, Finance & Administration

Robert (Bob) Reekie, FCPA, FCMA

Bob joined Inn from the Cold in April 2020. He has over 30 years experience in Calgary’s non-profit sector, and 25 of those years have been spent as a leader. Prior to joining the Inn, Bob was Controller at the Calgary Zoo from 2013 – 2020 where he successfully supported his team and the organization through the 2013 flood. Before the Zoo, Bob held various financial and leadership roles at WinSport from 1989 – 2013 and was Chief Financial Officer from 2006 – 2013, where he oversaw the $200M facility expansion at Canada Olympic Park. Bob earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Calgary and is a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants (FCMA, FCPA).
