Our Team

Collaboration & Leadership

Our team brings a variety of different backgrounds, approaches and perspectives to the table, representing the diversity of our community. Our leaders ensure we continue to meet the varied needs of the families at Inn from the Cold by working collaboratively together. We continually evolve and adapt our programs to be able to provide effective, sustainable and integrated supports for the families we serve.

Meet Our Executive Team

Chief Executive Officer

Heather Morley, MA

Heather is the CEO of Inn from the Cold, Alberta’s only shelter and housing organization dedicated exclusively to supporting families experiencing homelessness. Since joining in 2019, she has led transformational growth by expanding shelter and housing capacity, advancing trauma-informed care, and strengthening critical programs.

With more than 30 years of experience across Canada and the United States, Heather has worked at the intersection of homelessness, housing, abuse, and poverty. A catalyst for change, she has built meaningful partnerships, including a groundbreaking collaboration that transformed an unused office building into an innovative family hub of shelter and housing.

Heather holds a Master’s degree in Counselling from the University of San Francisco and received the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal in 2022. Under her leadership, The INN has been recognized as one of Charity Intelligence’s ‘Top 100 Charities’ and HRD Canada’s ‘Best Places to Work’, and was fully accredited by the Canadian Accreditation Council in 2025.

Vice President, Programs & Outcomes

Christine Hall, RSW

Christine joined Inn from the Cold in September 2023. She is responsible for providing leadership to our Emergency and Transitional Shelter, our Supportive and Affordable Housing, and our Integrated Support Services programs.

Christine brings over 30 years of social work and non-profit management experience. She worked in senior leadership positions with Phoenix Youth Programs in Halifax and the YW Calgary, Sonshine Community Services and Inter-Faith Youth & Family Services in Calgary. Christine has bachelor’s degrees from Carleton University and the University of Calgary and is a Registered Social Worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Christine is passionate about social justice, anti-oppressive practice, collaborative relationships, and advancing people’s understanding of homelessness. She acknowledges her settler roots and that we are all Treaty people with a responsibility to take meaningful action for true reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.

Vice President, Finance & Risk Management

Nathalie Cooper, CPA, CA

Nathalie joined Inn from the Cold in February 2026 and provides leadership to the Finance team, with oversight and strategic guidance for the Information Technology and Risk Management functions.

She brings more than 15 years of financial leadership experience across the not‑for‑profit, energy, and public sectors. Most recently, Nathalie served as Director of Finance at the Canadian Mental Health Association, Alberta and the Centre for Suicide Prevention. She has also held fractional CFO roles with Affirm LLP, including supporting Axis Connects, a Calgary‑based not‑for‑profit focused on advancing gender diversity in the workplace.

Nathalie is deeply passionate about serving the community and is strongly motivated by purpose‑driven work that creates meaningful impact.

She obtained her CPA, CA designation in 2009 and holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Calgary. Known for her outgoing and collaborative nature, Nathalie thrives on building strong relationships and working alongside others to strengthen organizations and the communities they serve.

Vice President, Operational Services

Kevin Stirling

Kevin joined Inn from the Cold in 2026 and provides strategic leadership for the operational systems, facilities, and physical environments that support families experiencing homelessness and the teams who serve them.

He brings more than 20 years of operational leadership experience, built from the ground up beginning as a Red Seal journeyman plumber and progressing through trades supervision, facilities management, and construction operations into senior executive leadership. Prior to joining The INN, Kevin served as Director of Capital Planning & Projects at Heritage Park Historical Village, a registered charity and one of Canada’s largest living history museums.

Kevin believes that a safe, clean, and well-run environment is itself a form of care – that strong operations work quietly in the background, allowing frontline staff to focus entirely on the families they serve.

Kevin is currently completing his MBA at Athabasca University and is an avid hockey fan who remains actively involved in the Calgary minor hockey community.
