Summer time as a child…many of us have memories of family vacations and outings, summer camps and long days spent outside playing with our friends. Two whole months of freedom and fun! At our Emergency Family Shelter, we, with the help of our partners and supporters try to give our guests the experiences that many of us took for granted or were just “normal” growing up.
This past Monday, ENMAX, long-time supporter of Inn from the Cold, helped create a special summer memory for 28 children and 23 of their parents staying in shelter. They hosted a special outing to The Calgary Zoo. They took care of transportation for our guests, hosted a fun scavenger hunt for the kids, provided a wonderful lunch and made that day a memorable one.
Kids and their parents arrived back to the shelter with smiles on their faces and exhausted from the excitement of the day!
