Inn from the Cold Launches Matching Campaign to Combat Homelessness.

Donations raised this month will be matched dollar for dollar by a generous group of donors.

Inn from the Cold has launched its newest annual campaign, A Village Can. From May 1 to May 31, Calgarians donating to the Inn will have their contributions matched dollar for dollar.

The campaign aims to raise $1 million to provide a safe space for families on the brink of homelessness. While this may seem like an audacious goal, A Village Can, is inspired by the idea that when Calgarians come together, seemingly insurmountable challenges can be overcome — something the organization has witnessed firsthand.

Since the beginning of 2022, the need for Inn from the Cold’s services has surged, with more families reaching out for help. In response, the organization saw an outpouring of community support as Calgarians rose to the occasion of helping families get back on their feet.

Jennifer English, Director of Philanthropy and Campaigns at Inn from the Cold, says, “This is a city where help doesn’t just come from one individual. Instead, a village is what meets you in your time of need.”

Inn from the Cold’s campaign, A Village Can, is a vital opportunity for the community to make a real difference in the fight against homelessness. Funds raised go directly to supporting Calgary families experiencing the brunt of the housing crisis.

The organization believes that, together, Calgarians can provide much-needed support to those impacted by a housing crisis because a village can end family homelessness.
