Inn from the Cold’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce Heather Morley as the organization’s Executive Director, effective April 15th. After undergoing an intensive and thorough recruitment and interview process the board and leadership team are thrilled to introduce Heather to our community of supporters.
Most recently, Heather has been serving as Vice President of Programs and Services at YWCA of Calgary. She brings with her decades of work in the social services and homeless-serving sectors. Heather has not only dedicated her career to the social wellbeing of others but uses her personal time to ensure the broader community is educated and aware of homelessness and social injustices in our society. Some of Heather’s many achievements and accolades include: instructing the Working with Homeless Populations at the University of Calgary; serving on the Board of Director for the Women’s Centre of Calgary; presenting at multiple conferences; and publishing research on Women’s Shelters in Canada.
“I am honored to begin this next chapter at Inn from the Cold,” says Heather Morley. “I believe the Inn is one of the sector’s leaders in ending homelessness through their innovative and evidence based care for families and the way they engage the public in their work. I am very excited to join this incredible organization and lead the dedicated staff who make it great.”
In addition to Heather’s impressive sector experience she has a Master of Arts majoring in Counselling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba, as well as a Certificate in Strategic Leadership from The Banff Center Leadership Development and a Certificate in General Social Work from the University of Waterloo. Heather is committed to supporting our communities most vulnerable and has proven it through her life’s work. Inn from the Cold is delighted to welcome Heather to the organization.
