For many organizations, a milestone anniversary is cause for celebration, but for Inn from the Cold, it has fueled a new challenge to its donors — a call for donations to end family homelessness and the need for services like Inn from the Cold.

Over the last 25 years, The Inn has supported Calgary families experiencing homelessness. Now, as rising costs of living, job loss, inflation and insufficient housing supply threaten to put more families on the streets, the organization is seeing unprecedented demand for its services.

In response, Inn from the Cold is calling for help from donors.

25 Years is Enough, is a fundraising campaign that matters because it relates to a milestone that we never intended to reach. Inn from the Cold exists to help families break the cycle of homelessness. But the big vision, is for a community where no child or family is homeless,” says Heather Morley, Executive Director at Inn from the Cold

“What we’re working toward is a future where Inn from the Cold is no longer needed. But to get there, we need people to feel so strongly about this vision that they say enough is enough. 25 years is one too many.”

Inn from the Cold’s fundraiser launches on August 22 and runs until October 15. Proceeds raised during the campaign will go directly to support those in need — families experiencing the brunt of the housing crisis.
