Inn from the Cold has been a part of the Calgary community since 1997.
20 years ago, Inn from the Cold was born out of the kindness, love, and compassion for those in need by a small group of concerned Calgarians. Inn from the Cold provided supports to vulnerable families through the Community Inn program which set up safe emergency shelters in Calgary churches for vulnerable Calgarians. Since then the Inn has become Alberta’s largest family homeless-serving agency providing assistance to thousands of children and their families. We provide emergency shelter supports from our downtown emergency shelter, affordable and supportive housing around Calgary, and prevention and diversion support at the Family Hub. We work collaboratively with many other agencies in Calgary and Alberta and take a system approach in finding solutions for families experiencing homelessness.
