CALGARY, June 6, 2022 -– Inn from the Cold a non-profit charity focused on helping families facing housing crisis has rebranded.

For over 25 years, The Inn has been helping vulnerable families find stability in times of crisis. The Inn provides a holistic approach by offering wrap-around supports, which sets up families for long-term success and saves the public system’s resources. As the largest organization in the Calgary region that is dedicated solely to families experiencing a housing crisis, they believe that a community where no child or family is homeless is possible.

The Inn will be moving into move into a new purpose-built home located at 706 7 Avenue S.W.in the fall. This innovative partnership with Home Space will allow The Inn to better serve the families they support with a new emergency shelter space, programming space and transitional and affordable housing.

In light of this, The Inn was presented with an opportunity to re-evaluate their brand to ensure it is inclusive and represents the diversity of the families they support.

The Inn’s new logo represents the diversity of families they serve, it demonstrates that families come in all shapes and sizes. Symbolically speaking, it shows that it takes many people to make a home. The snowflake pays homage to their roots of how they were founded during the bitterly cold winter of 1997, and shows their evolution and transformation into an organization that is there to help families wherever they are on their housing journey. The circle shape represents transition, potential, and a movement that inspires them to keep going.

Together these elements reflect Inn from the Cold’s core values and our continued dedication to children and families facing a housing crisis. For us, our new brand reminds us that ‘Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much’.

“While Inn from the Cold, has a new look — we are still the same organization that is there for vulnerable families in their times of crisis.” says Heather Morley, Executive Director. “It is our hope that families see our new logo as a welcoming symbol of hope and that our new look sets us up for continued success over the next 25 years.”
