Circles of Hope – An afternoon with Jesse Thistle

By 22 February 2019Circles of Hope, Community

Claire’s Campaign is back for the 7th year! Claire’s Campaign is Inn from the Cold’s annual matching campaign that runs throughout the month of May in honor of the special women in our lives – our mothers. Funds raised from Claire’s Campaign will fund our Family Support Program which supports critical programming and operational needs in our Emergency Family Shelter and housing programs.

This year, we are planning something special to kick off the campaign; we are hosting a Circles of Hope event. For the past two years, Circles of Hope has been an incredible event that has celebrated of the work being done in the homeless-serving and social-serving sectors. Participants have left this event year after year feeling inspired and re-energized in their work and motivated to make a difference in our communities.

This year’s Circles of Hope event will feature thoughtful conversations with keynote speaker Jesse Thistle. With lived experience of homelessness, jail time, and addiction, Jesse is now a governor general medalist who works with Métis communities suffering from the effects of intergenerational trauma. His doctoral work on Métis road allowance communities has won the P.E. Trudeau and Vanier doctoral scholarships. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to hear Jesse and his powerful message.
