As you have likely heard Inn from the Cold is moving to a new location and the time has finally come for our big move.
Starting Monday, October 24th, our official address is 706 7 Avenue S.W., Calgary AB T2P 0Z1. We will be located in the heart of Downtown along the c-train line on the corner of 7 Avenue & 6 Street S.W.
Our new home, Neoma, has been an innovative and collaborative partnership with HomeSpace. We are excited for our new space which allows us to better serve families in a purpose-built building with emergency shelter, transitional shelter, affordable housing and support services all under one roof.
As a result of our relocation, we will be temporarily pausing new admissions of families into emergency shelter during this time of transition. From Friday, October 21 through to Monday, October 31, we will be unable to accept new families into shelter. For families requiring housing support, our 24-hour support line (403 263 8384) is still available to help families in need. Our Family Support team will work with families and partner agencies to ensure that families are redirected to the most appropriate program and services to meet their needs. We are extremely grateful for the ongoing collaboration in the homeless-serving sector for families in need.
We will reopen admissions to the shelter for new intakes starting Tuesday, November 1.
Donations of Goods & Items
As this time, Inn from the Cold, has to pause the donations of physical goods and items. With our move to the new building, we will have significantly less storage space and will be unable to store large quantities of items. If you are looking to donate items, as a way of support, we are always in need of gift cards for our families, and we will occasionally put out calls for critical needs like diapers or formula on our social media.
